Salvadorean Liga MB round 11 best performance: Luis Portal (by Hoops Agents)- April 5, 2022
The 35-year old player was the main contributor (34 points, six rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Chalchuapa (#10, 2-7) with 42-point margin 131-89. Aguila is placed at 5th position in Salvadorean Liga MB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Aguila will need more victories to improve their 5-4 record. In the team's last game Portal had a remarkable 83.3% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Aguila, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Luis Portal averages this season 7.5ppg. The second best player in last round's games was young Cuban Osmel Oliva (180-PG-1987) of Fantasmas. Oliva had a very good evening with 38 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course he led Fantasmas to another comfortable win 105-90 over slightly lower-ranked Nejapa (#8, 2-5) being unquestionably team leader. Despite this victory Fantasmas slide down in the standings to 6th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 4-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Oliva is one of the most experienced players at Fantasmas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.9ppg (#7). His other stats are also decent: 6.4rpg and 4.1apg. Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Telvin Gabriel (198-F-1994) of Nejapa (#8). Gabriel got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for eleven rebounds and four assists. Despite Gabriel's great performance Nejapa lost 90-105 to slightly higher-ranked Fantasmas (#6, 4-4). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Nejapa can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-5 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Gabriel has individually a great season in El Salvador. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 28.1ppg (5th best). He also has FGP: 58.8% and 3PT: 46.2%. Gabriel attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. Other top performing players last week: 4. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
